Lighten Foundation Shade?

I'm one of those super fair people who can never find the right shade of foundation.  I think I've potentially found a solution in some Bobbi Brown products, however I currently have two bottles (and no receipt) of Clinique's Redness Solutions in Calming Alabaster.  I thought it matched and it's pretty close, but I'll get a look at myself in ( Read more... )

the only think i can think of is finding a white/lighter product to mix with the darker shade. Such as http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P241702&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=5955 in the RF 105 shade...I know Mac Pro does a white corrector as well.

Thanks, I placed an order for this (illamasqua) with another sephora order to see how it works with my current foundation.

There's a product by MAC Pro for lightening foundation. I think it's a white face and body foundation, but I've never used it myself.

Several brands sell white foundation, which is used to make foundation lighter.

I use Mac Face and Body in white for exactly this purpose. It comes in a massive bottle though so when you only use a little bit it seems a bit of a waste. Also sometimes I get a bit annoyed with having to mix foundation every morning on the back of my hand but I just can't find a foundation that is light enough and neutral enough to match my skin tone. I will be keeping an eye on your post to see what other suggestions you get. Good Luck

In the past (read when I was a teen) I used a little bit of white face paint (the kind that came with a vampire costume set). I also recall reading a teen girls mag that a little bit of talc (non-scented) mixed with the foundation would work but didn't really try it. A quick google search suggest that mixing it with a too light foundation or using a much lighter pressed powder will work. This is going with the thought that you don't want to spend too much money.
