I'm actually kind of surprised to see Fuku get as well as a reception as she has. I mean, I know she's no Sue but rarely do I see female OCs get the positive reaction she's gotten. And the thing with the samurai is one of my favorite parts about writing this fic, more because of the development Giotto and G have gone through to be able to stand up to him for reasons that make them the first generation Vongola boss and right hand man, especially given where they first started.

there's no reason to dislike an OC just because she's female.

That is true. I just know that a lot of people are typically wary of female OCs because of the Sue potential (myself included, but lately I've been working on being more open-minded towards OCs since I know sometimes in fanfic, you just have to have them, no way around it), and since Fuku was originally drafted to be the future Mrs. Vongola, I worried that people might see her as one automatically. Fandom has made me irrationally paranoid, I know. ^^; (But, then again, I'm an irrationally paranoid person to begin with, so... *lol*)
