Peter sat down at his battered kitchen table with quill, inkpot and three pieces of parchment.

His first note was for Blanche.

After a quick ride to the Leaky Cauldron, Peter led the others through the crowded, noisy pub and out the back door. It took a few tries, but eventually he managed to tap the right brick in the wall and open up the passageway leading to Diagon Alley.

"So, who's going where?" Hex asked. "Maeve says she needs to go to the bank. Anyone else?"

"Well. I do have to go to my solicitor's office--I asked him to pick up some money for me and I have to go and sign some paperwork."

She caught hold of Peter's hand again. She wanted him to come with her.

"I'll go with Blanche," Peter volunteered. "I don't have to go to the bank, so I can accompany her, make sure there aren't any problems...I mean, after the article in The Quibbler, you know..."

Several wizards and witches were already inside Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour when Hex and Maeve arrived from Gringott's, but Peter and Blanche were not among them.

"Still, we'd best get a table," Hex said, escorting Maeve to one of the booths lining one wall. "This place is bound to fill up the nearer it gets to lunchtime."

Maeve slid into the booth and smiled her thanks as a witch in the purple-and-pink robes of a Fortescue's employee handed her a menu. "We'll need two more, please; we're expecting friends to join us."

Hex slid into the booth next to Maeve and peered over her shoulder as she opened her menu.

Fortescue's was best known for its sumptuous ice cream sundaes, but it also served delicious drinks and even snacks and light lunches. His stomach growled audibly as he looked at the pictures in the menu.

Maeve giggled at the noise. "Everything looks good, doesn't it?" she asked. "I'm having trouble choosing what I'd like to eat."

Peter led the way out of the Leaky Cauldron and back on the street. "Where to first?" he asked.

Blanche looked around. She'd not been around London very much since they'd come back, and before that, she'd been only four.

It was still as big as she remembered it.

"Could I borrow your map, Pete?" Hex asked. Once the map of London was given to him, he spread it out and studied it.

"We're here," he said, pointing to the St. James area. "And we want to get here." He pointed to Grimmauld Place.

"When Pete and I went around last time, we saw some pretty good stuff in Camden Town, and that happens to be near our place. But at the same time, maybe you girls might want to take a look around.

"So what do you want to do? Go straight to Camden Town or take the scenic route?"

Blanche grinned. "I'd rather the scenic route, I think. Let's make this last a while."

Any time spent with friends, any time spent with Peter, was time well spent, after all.
