So, it is a common thing for more people to just vanish when we get closer to the end of the month, or am I just trying to see patterns that aren't really there?

[Private to Will Graham]

You got a second? I've got a couple questions for you.

[Private to Howie]

Last time I checked.

[We would have a very unhappy vigilante on our hands if he wasn't. :\]

There's a pretty even distribution of disappearances, really. It's the arrivals that follow a pattern.

Yeah, I'd definitely noticed that. Does the population stay pretty consistent? I haven't really been around long enough to make any definite claims one way or the other.

In my time here it has. Sometimes we get a big influx, but people drop out so frequently that the overall numbers tend to stay roughly the same. Good thing, too, since it seems to keep us from running out of rooms. [As the last addition of a new level came before Arthur's time.]

I've actually been wondering about what would happen if we did. I mean, there's plenty of lost souls and people willing to make deals, seems kinda counterproductive to this place's credo if there's a cap on how many people are allowed to be here.

I got time. Too much of it, in fact. Ask away.

I know this is kind of a weird line of questioning to just start off with, but does John's being an inmate have anything to do with religion?

I know he's a very religious person, if that's what you're asking. I take it this wouldn't be a random curiosity?

Nope. I'm concerned because apparently Costigan's been talking with him about some faith related issues, and frankly, I think both of us aren't really sure this is a good idea. Maybe more me then him.

Maybe it's just a blip in the system or something. I mean, you've been around longer then me obviously, so if things are generally one way, this could just be the exception that proves the rule.

Wow. Are you seriously ignoring me after talking all about how it didn't change anything?

Well, at least I was right. You really are just like the rest of them.

I'm not ignoring you. You were talking with Arthur, I didn't think I had anything useful to add. It's not like I know anything about how the Barge's changed over the years.

If you want to talk, talk.
