Satake also doesn't "admire from afar". While Satake has timid qualities, that's not one of them. If there's a woman he's interested in, he'll pursue - but most of the time, it's the woman doing the pursuing (attracted by his power and wealth, and perhaps occupation), and he just winds up becoming interested.
