After a long, long time, I have once again committed fanfic. I began this just before Thanksgiving; I really felt the need to finish it, especially after the last few episodes. Me, I'm going to think this happened sometime after 7.06 and before 7.09 ...

I'm melting...

First you made me cry with Dean's flashback to Lisa's Thanksgiving, and then you made me awesomely happy that everyone had some peace (yay for Sheriff Jody!) and then when I finished I felt all sad again inserting this into canon and thinking about the new episode, but I decided to hang on to the schmoop and let the sadness go...

Thank you for reading and commenting! Glad you could hang onto the happy bits; I really HAD to finish this before the story progressed any further. I needed the sense of something positive and enduring, something the brothers could cling to in the days to come.

And I LOVE Sheriff Jody! I will firmly believe that she and Bobby got to share more than just wistful desire before 7.09 and 7.10.

This show always breaks my heart, and always will - but it also tells me the human spirit endures. I love this show. :)

I love the separate but connected Thanksgivings, each of them true to the character and the preceding year/season. Love that THIS Thanksgiving wasn't a struggle, as the previous year's was for Dean and Sam... and for Jody and Bobby. Love that Dean was able to fall into a tryptophan coma after all the good food, without having to be drunk to stave off nightmares.

Thank you for sharing, it's good to have you back on the fanfic wagon, even if only briefly. I hope we both see more posts from each other this new year. So far we're 2 for 2 on the 2nd day of the year.... is that an omen? :)
