The name of the user seems to be *janaedunham*. I'm really pissed...!!! :((

I'm posting what I said on another LJ:

It's been happening to a lot of LJs. If you look at the spammer's user info, they've alphabetically joined LJs by the hundreds all at once. I don't think any LJ I'm on hasn't been hit, some more than once. The mods can only delete and block, but that doesn't keep them from rejoining under another stupid name. A pox on them all. I hope their dicks rot off. *g*

Adding: If you run your cursor over their user pic, you can do what I did: ban them and report them as a bot. LJ will then delete the account.

I got t through another group here - different name but I think it is the same sender. And there was no delete option (how did they manage that) I've pulled out of the comm in question - I was only watching it anyway

I've just seen your first comment and now I understand why I also got it in my e-mail purporting to have come from Kimberley; I fear it carried a trojan (oops that was nearly a pun in the context) into her e-mail.
I suggest that anyone who gets that spam does what I did and runs a total spyware/antivirus check through her computer.

Yeah - I discovered an email of Kimberly too. Now that I read your warning I did not open it and I immediately deleted it. I let my antivirus check my laptop and thanks God it seems OK. Thanks a lot, Hilly...!!! :))

FWIW, I don't think the two are necessarily related. The "janaedunham" spambot posted to the starsky_hutch comm, which is why you saw the vid link on your friends page. Kimberly said her yahoo mail got hacked, which is why you got email that looked like it came from her, when in fact she did not send it.

Unfortunately, spamming can happen pretty much anywhere. User must beware, which you did. :)

I know it's not Kimberly's fault. But it's good she knows what happened. It's good to know and to delete such emails immediately. :))
