Better yet, they're flaming me now because I support our wonderful POTUS. One wonderfully informed commenter called me a "Brother". XD No seriously, read the comments. I laughed. Hard. And headdesked. Harder.
Oh! And one delightful man sent me the following PM:
"oh your young ass just took me to the cleaners, spank me for grammar and everything. oh i feel so put in my place. you have such a knowledge of the world and how it works. you must have voted in the last how many presidential elections?? oh i forgot this is your first. . when you grow up . and vote in many more presidential elections then you can tell me whats .what ok. until then go drink your baby bottle full of the democrat kool-aid ok. grow up. and stop spouting your liberal proffesors rants you hear everyday at school."
How sweet. XD And then he left this comment on my profile:
"oh i hope i didn't hurt your feelings young lady. i know how sensative you young women can be. just keep getting that education and look forward to the future. im sure it holds something for you and obama man. obama man can cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good, ha ha ha ha "
Yup. Because I was totes baw'ing in my Rocky Road ice cream because of some idiotic stranger's comment. The only thing I really hate is all the grammar!fail on my profile now... XD
EDIT: I took the time out of my not-busy schedule to respond to the man. My message:
"Yes, this was my first election and I was proud to vote for our current POTUS. But you don't know me or my background. I was raised Republican and, in the 2000 election (but not 2004's; my eyes were beginning to open at this point), had I been able to vote, I would have voted for Former President Bush. But I have grown up since then and realized that I cannot support the platforms that make up the Republican platform. I may not know everything about how the world works (and who can claim they do?), but I know what I've seen and experienced in my life and what ideals I agree and disagree with. I also know the importance of respecting others and respecting the man the people put in charge of the nation. If that makes me immature, then by all means, call me a baby again. I really don't give a rat's ass.
P.S. Down here in the Bible Belt, it's hard to come by a "liberal" professor. Any rants I give are my own opinions."
