Well, two critters in my house are about to have their world turned upside down......

Someone at my work posted a note on the community bulletin board that his mom is about to move into a nursing home, and they're selling her house. Unfortunately, their cat can't go with, and no one can take the cat in ( Read more... )

It's so ironic that last time I was there, you said you wouldn't be getting more cats because Grey Dude wouldn't get along with them. ;) But I'm sure it will work out. :)

We weren't planning on getting another cat, but I hate to see an older cat have to go to a shelter.

The Ancient Dude has adjusted to two other cats, relatively late in life. I think he'll be ok with one more, especially if it means that Floppy has another cat to harass play with.

Did you ever actually plan to get any of your kitties? I recall that Nyx and Blackie were not planned... but I am not 100% sure of the others. Cats just seem to happen to you guys. Which is cool :)

August was not planned. He was wandering around the apartment complex for a few days. We had gone to the landlord to see if he belonged to anyone, and as we approached him, he asked "Do you want a cat?"

That answered our question on if August belonged to someone. LOL

Tiger and Jody were sort of, kind of planned, since they were living outside a neighbors apartment. Tiger came first because we decided a second cat would be cool. We adopted Jody about 5-6 months later because I kept saying "I want that cat."

Nyx was a planned adoption. It had felt strange only having two cats in the house after we had to put Tiger down, so we decided to get another cat.

Blackie was not planned. LOL

I'd advise stocking up on Feliway or something similar - I know it helped us get our two acclimated way back when. It also keeps Kerrigan's hissing and growling to a minimum whenever Ari goes to the vet and comes home smelling "foreign."
