Well, about moments of camaraderie concerning Hollows, there also that instance when a Hollow Shawlong asked an Hollow Grimmjaw to devour his entire group as they gave up on their Evolution quest when Grimmjaw didn´t. However, they were still around, serving Grimmjaw as his fraccion, long after that happened.

It´s mostly implied that Grimmjaw spared them because he liked the notion of having a group of Hollows that considered him the future king but that´s more than enough considering Grimmjaw´s personality, he even sticked around with D-Roy.

I enjoyed that flashback alot mostly because of the notion that Shawlong, such a minor character in the grand schemes of things in Bleach, was such a direct influence on Grimmjaw´s character, he gave him a purpose besides being the "strongest".
