Do Arrancar Dream of Hollow Sheep? (My Somber Review and Thoughts for 353)

Apr 11, 2009 02:06

Funny how my approach to the same situation in two different ways can yeild such different results.  What had me angry and pouting just two weeks earlier is now met with a kind of resigned silence.  I'm more intensely saddened by the turn of events than I thought I would be, and in a bizzare way I feel like I lost... not necessarily a close ( Read more... )

Kubo seemed to grow impatient with the steady developments he'd been employing, and decided to push everything to the forefront immediately for the sake of resolving the IchiUlqui fight.

WORD!

I keep feeling the same, it was too fast for me. This deserve another chapter to settle things but as you said, KT wanted to end the UlquiIchi fight.

I'm not this fond about Ulquiorra but I think he deserved a better end, referring to another chapter to developt his farewell.

Sight!

Kubo needs to improve his pace!

BTW thanks for the essay I've enjoyed it so much. I love to read about others POV since those let me see other aspects of the manga :3 That I fail to see because I'm a Ishida-tard x_D

Those who dislike the turnout can complain about OOC-ness and lack of development, but it will never change the fact that they are now and forever arguing against manga canon, which means that my work as the "Ulquiorra guy" (100% correct, from start to finish!) has more or less come to an end.

I'll definately read Bleach, if no further than the resolution of Stark's fight, since I owe Kubo something for giving me such glorious bragging rights.

*smiles*

I knew you'd be right. Glorious bragging rights are worth something, ne? I'm hoping that my wish of a revived Ulquiorra won't be just a pipe dream of desperation and that Kubo-sensei can make it worth my while, because I never believed Ulquiorra would die. At the very least, I do expect him to appear in flashbacks again--the way Kaien did. Maybe in Yammi's backstory.

It's going to be hard to read Bleach without Ulqui, but I love Bleach and I love Kubo. I'm glad you'll be along for the ride. I appreciate your insights.

Indeed! I shall never forget that once, however long ago it becomes, I correctly called the development of a relationship between two characters in a childrens comic book. ^_^

Oh yes, I'd almost forgotten. Does this mean you still have to eat a bug over the whole ordeal? ^^

I'm not eating bugs yet. I have admit that Ulqui's gone before I do that...

and he's not gone, as far as I'm concerned! <3

Once again, lovely review.

That "Wallbanger" thing on tvtropes annoyed me, too, so I added an your "MileageMayVary" entry in which I said why many people see this not as a "Wallbanger" but a logical and IC plot development.

I noticed this. ^_^ I don't like to modify entries, as I feel my opinions are generally too biased. Though I do wish someone would change the entry that states the "Whether I've become more hollow, or you've become more human" was confirmed to be because Ichigo had become more hollow. It's clear he had no control over his "hollow" self.

First off:
Thank you for introducing me to whom was going to become my second all time favorite character after L, what a sad coincidence...
I knew about Bleach when the first two chapters were being scalanted by Toriyama World but then I lost contact and I wasn't interested until your essay. I knew about Ulquiorra, thanks to /a/ because at that time they wished for Ulquiorra to be the one to kill Ichigo, which turned out to be truth but they soon realised they were going against the main character in a shounen manga so they shut up.
I think I have mixed feelings about this chapter and for a second time we agree about our favorite panel... he rising his hand while partly turning into ashes... so beautifully holllow-human like.
Nice review, I think I will stick by the fanclub if only to make funny screencaps of the anime and be alert for any news related to Ulquiorra, because Bleach in general without him is not of my taste, I want my men grey colored.
Artemisa.

Seriously? I introduced you to Ulquiorra? (If ever there was an occasion for the ":wha" smiley, it's now)

Wow... I suddenly feel that my entire participation in the Bleach fandom has accomplished something. ^^

Yes, you are responsible for my broken heart ;__;
Honestly, thank you. I enjoyed his participation in Bleach and at the same time I hated how both, the author of Death Note, and KT decided to spice up the story by choosing my favorite characters to be 'killed'.

Good to know you were satisfied with overall closure, despite the feeling of somewhat rushness of the whole thing, i didn´t even noticed about him getting more human like as he´s dying and that he´s very human like when he finally expresses his interest in human and feelings.

Kinda Symbolic no?

I also noticed the fact about Orihime claiming that she wasn´t afraid and how that related to the fact that Iceringer said that Hollows were attracted to Aizen because he was a being without fear. I´m pretty sure that was intended.

Looking forward to reading the rest of Ulquiorra´s analysis and the reviews of incoming chapters. Keep it going Balla.
