Bleach chapter 352, "The Lust 6" My thoughts and review

Apr 03, 2009 07:14

What a pleasant surprise I found before sleep called me last night: Kubo taking his story in an interesting and turbulent direction... and one that didn't involve Ulquiorra's untimely and undeveloped death.  Seems I owe those with more faith in Kubo than myself a beverage of their choice from the cheapest vending machine in front of Wal Mart....  ( Read more... )

Great review. I really enjoyed reading it.

You'd think that everyone would be praising Ishida now, but instead it's a case of "damned if you do and damned if you don't". What's even more perplexing is, that not all of it is motivated shipping-fuled willful reality distortion, either. Which makes it all the more disturbing.

It is indeed. If Ishida had stood by silently as Ichigo hacked Ulquiorra to pieces, Ichigo would have had an enormous mental breakdown. When that happened, the very same people now yelling at Ishida for interfereing would have done the same for his NOT interfereing.

People are funny. ^^

I feel for Ishida the most out of this chapter. However, my Ulquiorra fangirl was happy to see him throw out one last blow! He'll probably be MIA for awhile but he'll return!

and did you see that Ulquiorra's stats came out! OMG I was going insane. The lyrics to the song fit what's going on right now.

Where did you find the lyrics to the song?

Somehow I'm not all that sure that Ulqui will go MIA after this chapter immediately. Too choppy and abrupt. At the very least we might get some reactions to the events that unfold from now on, if he's not up to fighting anymore.

SQUEEEE we got Ulqui's stats, I'm such a happy fangirl right now, especially about the song!

ULQUI STATS? WHERE? I've been Passover cleaning!

Usually character bashing doesn't make me blink. I've said it over and over again. I've laughed at all the "Emobats" and if I had a nickle for every time someone called Ishida a fag and it didn't bother me one bit but....

This stuff about him being a "traitor" and a "coward" and an "idiot" and not helping Ichigo defeat an enemy is really scary. REALLY SCARY.

Words fail to describe how satisfying a kick to the crotch this chapter was to them. ^_^

Yes, yes it was. And since they will never learn, I expect there will be more crotch-kicks to enjoy. ;)

Great review!

...since that talk about quiting Bleach if Kubo trashed ulquiorra weren´t just

I enjoyed it too, personally i never really considered a lack of character exposition regarding Ulquiorra, i always thought that he would get into that sooner or later but all of Bleach´s community seemed so adamant that Kubo just scrapped the dude that i myself started doubting that.

Good thing that he´s still around and acts in ways that can be interpreted in bipolar fashion. The horn slice in itself could mean any number of things.

It wasn't the thought of Ulquiorra dying that had me tempted to drop the manga (though his removal from the manga would drop my interest in it dynamically), it was the possibility of his dying with no further explanation or conclusion for his character that had me annoyed.

I admit, I didn't believe it much either, but the community was most adamant about how it was inevitable, and negativity is contagious.

The thing about this chapter that relieves me to no end is that it guarantees further insight into his character. Whether he lives or dies. Whether his action was 100% cheap or not, it was still unexpected, and requires further explanation.
