Job Hunting

Has anyone got any good ideas of where to search for jobs? I have lots of places that I look already but there must be more! And others for different types of jobs that I can do but haven't considered because I don't know anything about!

Any ideas?

What type of job do you want? One idea is to upload your CV to an online recruitment agency (CV Vacancy, for example.) They will ask you to target what areas you wish to work in, and what you consider your skills and attributes to be. That way, recruiters will come to you!

I don't know what type of job! Research and Uni jobs are rare at the moment so I thought I'd see what else was out there.

I have my CV on Monster but nothing has come of that - except for an annoying waste of time commission only sales post.

Will look at CV Vacancy.

Some organisations only advertise on their own websites: if you know some companies that you'd like to work for, have a scan through on a weekly basis.

It's sometimes worth looking at journals for research/uni stuff as well as jobs.ac.uk and the Times Higher Education website for that type of role.

For ideas of new jobs have a look at the national papers - it doesn't matter where they are but if something takes your eye, find out if there's something similar nearby xxx

Oooh that is a good idea! Though with private sector they seem to speak a different langueage so I have no idea what I'd be able to apply for - let alone what the job would entail!

I didn't think to look at journals - I will try that. jobs.ac.uk is checked daily at the moment!

I will keep trying!
