This story is so much fun! I really enjoyed the closeness Jim and Spock finally had on the beach.

Poor Jim can't seem to do anything right, but at least Spock is seeing beyond his captain's flailing to the man behind the public facade.

I thought Spock's ruminations on colours was interesting. It stands to reasons that with colour having certain symbolic significance, that Vulcan would have had a similar tradition and that the symbolism of the colours on their world be different.

And I just love Abrehar! This. “Tell me about your yellow-haired consort and his penis.” Made me laugh out loud.

And they kissed! Finally. w00t! :-)

I'm really glad you enjoy it! Something fun and humorous for summer is exactly something I wanted to do. And the swimming thing, thanks. This may come off as awful, but I don't actually research anything for fanfic. I'm just gonna say that, like me, Jim learned how to swim in his backyard without taking any classes, so he really doesn't know what he's doing and shouldn't have tried to teach someone else to swim. :D

An update, yay!

I loved the world building you began with - Spock's musings on red as the mother-colour of Vulcan and the forthright sheep (so adorable, I now need a plushie of one) and feeling obscene in science blues. Haha and it definitely gives an interesting take on all that blue eyeshadow Spock wears in TOS. ;) And the whole Spock/Kirk patronymic thing was clever.

I really liked the detail you went into in Spock's rather mechanically-minded experience of swimming; it was so... Spocky, you know? And the post-drowning serious conversation was lovely as well -- Jim's so sweet. And a-ha! sexings! - my god, it never gets old. :D
