Rose’s stomach grumbled hungrily, and she turned to her two friends. “Don’t suppose either of you thought to bring food, did you?”
Jack shook his head. “No, sorry. Wasn’t expecting to be wandering around this long.”
“Why would we need to bring food?” The Doctor gestured around him. “There’s plenty to eat right here.”
“Like what?” Rose couldn’t see anything that looked even remotely edible.
The Doctor plucked a low-hanging, fuzzy greyish blob off a nearby tree and tossed it to her.
“You expect me to eat this?”
“Pookri fruit taste much better than they look.”
“That wouldn’t be difficult.”
