As so often occurs, I read a review--more of a reflection--of an author that I've never heard of, and, like a knight hotly in pursuit of the holy grail, I swiftly 'researched' (if 20 minutes of online perusing can be considered researching), and then ordered, three of the author's works.

Two should arrive by tomorrow.

Today I was running late to my Shakespearean Adaptations course. I live close to campus - it's approximately a nine-minute walk from my pad - so I typically walk to school in the morning. Though icy cold, the stretch of road from my house to school was nearly entirely free of ice.

Except for a patch on the sidewalk opposite to the school.

I went for a brisk walk the other night and briefly stopped by my office to look for a document. Afterwards, I walked through campus. It was cold and dark, the faint outline of the buildings emerging, then falling behind, as I walked rapidly, knuckles buried into my pockets. Church bells rang. I moved into my new place yesterday. I'm not quite settled in since there are still boxes in the garage that I've not brought into the house--but bed, dishes, and food have been installed in their proper places.

Today I hung out with my friend Y. He has been finishing up his mathematics dissertation and is set to defend soon. We have each had a difficult fall and winter and have not been able to hang out for some time. At work. Past my hours - 25 minutes past 9pm - but not getting paid overtime. It's ok: I like it here. 'Here' is a comfortable lounge for college students, a space for them to study or congregate with friends.
