Sorry I'm tardy. I haven't been online much lately due to RL, and I've been neglecting you :)

Please feel free to discuss the episode here if you haven't already hashed it out elsewhere.

I thought it was great. They really kept the momentum up from last season and hit the ground running.

Ward was creepy as hell. At this point, I'm not sure if he really wants to make amends to Skye, or he's just going Silence of the Lambs on her. Excellent acting job by Brett Dalton, either way.

The stuff with Fitz-Simmons was sad at first, but man was that twist at the end well done. That made the episode for me.

I think I actually yelled at the TV after that twist. I was shocked that Simmons was all in Fitz's head. But such a great twist.

I have no idea what I want to happen with Ward. He's very creepy right now though.

I really want them to keep him a bad guy for a long time. Too many TV shows have the villain redeem himself quickly, it's nice to see them use a main character this way and not water it down too fast. So far, AoS is doing it very well. :)

I'm honestly hoping for a redemption arc that takes YEARS. With real character growth. I just thought the portrayal of Ward was so smart! He's not just a Hydra dupe, he's kind of this pathetic creature who has to be told what to do, and isn't comfortable if he's not taking orders. I'm not sure I have ever seen that kind of male character on TV like this before.

I want to know what would happen if Coulson or Skye touched the Obelisk!!!!

My thoughts about Ward:

1) Is he really being kept in a cell with barely enough room to pace and nothing to do, except occasionally give Skye info? O.o I mean, Sweet Jesus--I turned him into Hydra's winter Soldier replacement and I actually think that what Coulson's doing to him is worse than that ( ... )

I'm not sure what else Coulson can do with Ward.

Coulson can't kill him, though I think he'd like too. All SHIELD's "holding" facilities have been compromised. And, he can't be trusted to run loose, he's too highly trained to just keep in restraints and Ward would probably still kill them all without hesitation- except Skye (and he stated plainly what he'd do to her).

Ward's presence is a constant reminder to the team of his betrayal. Keeping him locked in the basement out of sight/out of mind is probably the safest bet all around for everyone.

I hear you, BButtercup, but I still do think that Ward's cell doesn't have to be that severe. A few more feet of space wouldn't hurt anyone or even be too kind, I think, and giving Ward absolutely nothing to do is only going to guarantee that he'll literally be too crazy to be useful to them sooner rather than later.

And if they are drugging him, which I personally think they are, he can't be as dangerous. It's just that his cell seems more like torture than confinement.

Well, we need to remember though that he took action that left Fitz brain damaged and he's murdered people in cold blood (Victoria Hand, at least four Shield agents in the space of 2 episodes). Unfortunately, unlike Bucky, Ward can't say he was brainwashed or mind-wiped into doing it.

As for the size of the cell mentioned above, from the looks of that base, space is at a premium, so I don't really know what else they can do to accommodate a dangerous prisoner.

But, see, the thing about it is, he's a main character, so like mentioned earlier, he'll get a redemption arc. He won't be in that cell forever. :)
