Seen It!!! Part Two

We did an Iron Man III discussion post after it was released in Europe, so here's part two, since I think it's come out everywhere else since.

Let's talk IM 3 - spoilers in the comments.

I saw it over a week ago, and a lot of it is still stuck in my head. Thought it was definitely better than IM2.

The Mandarin twist was great. I kinda saw it coming, but not until way into the movie. Loved what they did with Tony's story, especially the PTSD. It showed that there's still a fragile human being under that armor. I was surprised about about the shrapnel being removed from his heart, but to be honest I've been kind of surprised that it wasn't done sooner with all the advanced technology in this universe. It rang really true, but I hope it doesn't mean RDJ's done with the franchise.

It did venture into dark territory, and I feared it would be derivative of Dark Knight Rises, but the humor offset the more serious moments perfectly. Loved the ending, it was sheer over-the-top comic book perfection. All those suits blew my mind, they were gorgeous!

I saw it in 3D, and it played well in that format. I'm hoping to see it on 2D before it ends it's run in my theater.
