Well, I can now say with certainty, the plot bunny discussed in my last post has... well... let's just say, it has grown teeth & fangs. Or wait... fangs ARE teeth... Right, enough of the silly mood. As by the title, I have indeed seeded a new story, which will be named "Altered Destinies". Caution, spoilers for both the HP universe, and the T:SCC universe under the cut...
"...everyone has a breaking point..."
(click on the poster to get the full version of it) The text on the left, is from Sarah's monologe at the start of the first episode of SCC, while on the right, we see the ugly prophecy Harry is bound to, of which Harry only finds out about after the battle at the Department of Mysteries. There are of course, elements from both universes portrayed in the poster, and I'm of course, very pleased with how it turned out.
As was mentioned in the previous post, John and Harry have a few things in common. The question is, what will happen when they actually meet?
What will Cameron's reaction be to a wizard? What if Harry was to cast magic at her? Lots of fun there, I see? What will Sarah and Derek think of Harry? Would they see him as a threat, or a possible ally?
At the opposite extreme, how would John handle Harry's world? I see it right off the hop, that they experience each other's universe (Harry ends up in John's world, then both come back into Harry's, that kind of thing).
At any rate, it will probably be some time before anything is actually released, since I want to take the time and do things right. That means, basic canon... in BOTH worlds. So it could be weeks or montsh before I actually release anything. I've learned a TON while writing "Canadian Intervention", and of course, I'm still learning as I work on "Aftermath of Tomorrow" (which unfortunately, I'm suffering a little writer's block at the moment-- perhaps this plot bunny isn't helping things either).
On the note of "Canadian Intervention", Travis Carter will sort-of be migrating to this fic as well, although he will get a last name change. I love Travis, his character developed quite nicely, and so will be retained, although a bit of his back story will be changed to better fit. I won't get into details, you'll just have to wait & see... or read "Canadian Intervention".
Now, of course, I also welcome comments & suggestions for my writing, because, by no means am I an expert, and I'm always striving to improve. Since I started sharing my fan fiction a year ago, I think my style has improved somewhat, but I know it can get a ton better.
