I haven't gotten a chance to post about ityet, but I saw him speak yesterday (economic summit in Albuquerque, didn't see anything on the news about it because it was earlyish and he probably got shuttled off to 3904738573894 other events after) but it was such an amazing experience. On a Friday in the middle of the afternoon, there were people ranging in age from teenagers to geriatric, and it looked like an extremely representative sample of New Mexico racially (half hispanic, 8ish native, 3 black, the rest white) and there were entire FAMILIES. Like, I was sitting next to this dude who took the day off and took his kids out of school to go to this thing. He didn't sound like a reptilian politician (the way hilary sounds more and more every day) and he answered every question with an appropriate answer and didn't blow anyone off like when politicians answer questions that weren't asked so that they can continue harping on whatever they were there to talk about. It was just so amazing and inspiring and especially since new mexico

I'm so jealous! I think people underestimate the power of speech; they say he is a great speaker, but that's it. For one, that's not it if you listen to him speak, and as you talk about his answering questions and the way he interacts with people.
But also! I don't remember the last time we had a president that we quoted with pride, where families gathered around the television or listened to the Sunday night address. It was before even my mom was born, and it would be so nice for that to happen, and for the American people to become involved and believe again!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, it makes me all the happier to be an Obamaniac! :D
