I want to do better about documenting this pregnancy, because there is the possibility that I won't have another one. And I should be writing in here more often anyway. Otherwise my life just goes by and I barely notice, or I don't remember, or reflect or something. I'm not sure

Good thoughts about the pregnancy and about the control issues. I so relate.
Which midwife at UCSF? I have met two of them, and one was my primary care through both pregnancies (and one miscarriage). She didn't have anything to do with my deliveries, though, other than stopping in to see me after the c-sections -- it's whoever is on-duty. (Plus, I'm a 2 c-section mom. Breech, then failed induction. The latter could have gone differently if I'd refused to be induced...)
As for the effect of introducing another sibling - Katie definitely suffers from less attention from me, and I find that I prefer *this 18 month old* I have right now to my almost 5 year old. But I think the first problem will ultimately be balanced out by having a brother, and I think the second problem is simply a temporary age thing.
