The daily life of me

Mar 07, 2006 19:03

So, what have I been up to for the last few days?

Well there was lots of housework at the weekend. You may have noticed my poem on the subject a couple of posts ago. But now the house is very shiny and clean and I feel virtuous so life is not all bad. And there were also some fun things, namely:

Learning to crochet. Bought book, bought hook ( Read more... )

bach, choir, diary, crochet, music

I used to crochet kimonos and saris and rock star attire for my dolls when I was younger. :)

Sounds very chic. A crocheted frock is just what every well dressed girl should be wearing this summer ;)

Hey, I'm going to look up Kathryn Tickell's music: it sounds right up mine and the Detective's alley.

I'm glad you're liking crochet. I like those fine-cotton snowflakes and angels you can make for the Christmas tree.

Oh I hope you like it. My favourite tune of hers is called Our Kate - she wrote it for Catherine Cookson. Maybe you can find it on iTunes?

Am having a severe attack of "startitis" at the minute which means I have many, many half finished projects lurking in the basket by my sofa.

I am very glad to know the name of this, as I have had it chronically for several years now.

all will be well and all manner of things will be well

Have you seen that cool icon of Julian of Norwich holding a cat? That quote and the part about the cat shelter site made me think of it immediately!

I am startitis girl at the moment, although I did finish my potholder last night so I am feeling pleased with myself. I think I need to take a class in finishing techniques actually - it's usually that bit that really puts me off.

I haven't seen that icon, but it sounds adorable. Is it bad of me that one of the things I'm looking forward to about having furry friends is looking for some new LJ icons? :)

"Startitis", is it? I'm with Kit, I have suffered from that in a chronic version for a long long time... When you find out where they hold that finishing techniques class, let me know. And while you're at it, ask if they have a special class for learning how to finish a thesis. (Or a chapter for a thesis...)

Oh, and we're all waiting for the furry little companions to turn up! Please keep us posted!

Yep. Definitely startitis. Bad case of it too, Doctor. No known cure :)
