So far so good. I lost 1.5 kgs, then gained some back. I am still on track to reach my goal, but I lost a lot of the head start I had at the beginning

Keep up the good work! Just three more weeks to go for this phase thing of yours. BTW, the Delhaize sells tofu. I just noticed--maybe you already knew. Tastes pretty boring unless you soy sauce/hot sauce it the hell up, but very good for protein. Since Kaia was born, I've had the ridiculously bad habit of eating a second dinner every night, or the caloric equivalent thereof in snacks--a sort of "thebaby'sasleepnowIcantakecareofmyself" comfort feeding. Six weeks ago, I grabbed myself by the scruff of my neck, shook, and said, "Quit that." I've lost 3 kilos. I don't know how long I will keep losing (set point will be reached at some point), but definitely a change that needed to happen. Comfort feeding is eVILE.
Why the hell do you want a high protein intake if your goal is to lose weight or being in better shape? Building muscles isn't equal to getting in shape at all! To better your shape, do any activity where your heartrate is >140 for at least 20 minutes. (This also means biking to work won't do it) You can easily lift weights and build muscles and still have the lousiest shape ever.
And daily weight gain and loss is all about water going in or leaving places in your body and doesn't mean anything at all. It is completely impossible to lose more than a couple 100g of fat in a day, if you want to see how much *fat* you are losing, weighing yourself more than every 2 weeks is ridiculous.
JanD has a very good point. Trying to lose weight while trying to build muscle is really contradictive.
Muscles are denser then fat and therefore heavier. I think it's better to focus on one of those at a time, so either burning fat and in doing so losing weight or work on gaining muscle and forget about the weight while you do that.
Sure muscle might burn some fat, but muscle being heavier, you won't see much results on a scale. You'll see the results in the mirror though, and in how your clothes fit.
