I need the money for my new costume that's costing about $200 more than I thought it would.
Also I've won 2 major awards in it. It's kinda a pain to wear with the huge sandals, the hair takes over an hour to do each time, I have so many other costumes I'm making for Otakon and Dragon that I won't have time to wear it and I need the closet space. I'd rather get back some of what I invested in the costume and let some one else enjoy it than have it sit in my closet.
This may be kind of an OT question, but however did you make the shoes? I've got to make some very high shoes for a man's costume and I'm just at a loss on where to find something long enough and tall enough.
BTW, the costume is beautiful. I think my jaw dropped when I saw it. I'm glad to see it has won some awards!
I took a 2x6 (pine) and cut out the basic shape twice for each foot. I then glued the pieces together to get the hight. After than I sanded down the wood till it was smooth, even and shaped like I wanted it. Probably not the best way to go about making shoes but they have a wood grain in the reference and I wanted to keep that.
Wait.... you're a reverse trap? Man this makes my inner Zuko fangirl sad. Mind if I add you? Any one who makes kick ass costumes and loves avatar sounds like some one I'd like to know.
