Went to the downtown library yesterday with marmalade_girl  and her hubby. I hadn't gone in years and I was shocked that very little seems to have changed. I dragged her up to the microfilm section and forced her to help me skim through NY Times articles from 1917-1918. You'd've *loved* some (all) of the ads I saw. I was looking at early December of 1917, so the Christmas ads were out in full force. The clothes were so wonderful that I barely remembered to look for articles. >_>; But the microfilm gave me a headache, so I will gladly pass the research-buddy torch on to you.
