The dinner was at a place in Denton called the Abbey Inn. (Actually, it was in their basement, the Boiler Room, so that we had a private space for the dinner.) We had fish and chips and cottage pie (shepherd's pie made with prime rib and cheddar mashed potatos), green beans, and an orzo salad. Kent's meme made TONS of different family recipes for dessert--shortbread (omg!), chocolate cake, something she calls "better than fruitcake," coconut pie (it's like pecan pie, but the nuts are replaced with coconut), and Amish friendship bread (cinnamon and sugar quick bread--one of my favorites of all the things she makes).

Forgot to mention our appetizers. We had scotch eggs and spring rolls. It was my first time having scotch eggs and OHMYGOD!!! I'm so hooked. Kent's promised to make me a batch in the next day or two. :)
