We've received a literature submission to the RED contest. I was starting to wonder if we were going to get any. It's only mid way through the contest duration. We've got 3 more weeks to go. Today, we finally got one entry! *awe* And I got an inquiry from another writer about what to do with a piece that is twice as long as the 800-word limit. XD I ( Read more... )

I'm really glad you're being strict about the contest rules, it's quite refreshing. I think the red contest is definately going to get some really great results that reflects what was submitted to it.

Keeping your rules intact is one of the only ways to show that you're being serious about this contest. Sure, sometimes when we participate in various things we wish the rules could be changed just for us but in retrospect it just messes everything up. That's like an RPG I joined a few years ago in which the mod herself suddenly changed the rules just so she could take up another character...

You're doing the right thing!

Once I announce a set of rules for an event, it's set in stones. I defnintely go by "Treat others the way you'd like to be treated". This incident just reminded me why I decided to hold a contest myself in the first place. XD

Thanks for your support. ^^

Great to hear that you are keeping your integrity and sticking by your rules :)

Rules are important to contestants... in any competition, it's the rules that give the contest itself substance as to what is expected etc... and I'm glad you stuck with your guns.. because contestants do read rules and do get angry if they are arbitrarily changed since they pour their heart and souls into an entry they would like to be treated with at least some degree of respect and sensitivity
