OOM: New York, 1999

New York City. Center, as Angel once called it, of the universe.
Jane's been going as often as she can manage, working on the loft part of the day and being a tourist for the rest. In that respect, it's quite nice knowing a few natives - she wouldn't have known to look for some of the coolest stuff otherwise. And sure, she's hit most of the usual skyscrapers, but that's because they're usually art in their own right.
She's been putting off the two closest to the loft as long as she can, though, even if they're her ulterior motive for coming to a New York not her own. But now, she's nearly done painting, and the World Trade Center can't wait that much longer.
She'll have to find some time to develop this film herself, she already knows that. There are darkrooms at school, though, and if all else fails... well, the downstairs bathroom's always worked well enough for her dad. It's having the things that's the important part. Besides, it's a place she's always wanted to visit, and would have if history hadn't conspired against it.
Jane just hopes, though she knows it's not likely, Mark's world avoids the same fate as her own, in this regard.

When she's done with taking photos, she takes a seat on the top floor of a tower, near the window, and just watches the city go for a while. The view's certainly unparalleled, and if she doesn't cherish it now she'll probably never get another chance.
It's hard to get herself motivated to go back, even knowing people might be wondering where she got to. But eventually, Jane does head down and out and back to the building. Some of the paint needs touching up, and she can do that before she goes back to the bar.
