scent-stories

These scents fill my head with stories. Who knew?

I suppose, though, they say that scent is one of the strongest memory triggers.

This after my tax preparer smelled just like my (deceased) aunt when I was in her office yesterday.

What scents evoke for you? What stories do you associate with them?

memories, questions, hobbies

That site is so cool. Have you bought any of them, yet?

Scents that evoke for me:
Strawberry incense - associated with my first girlfriend and lover. Whenever i smell it, i'm reminded of secret days spent in her room, and forbidden nights and creeping back and forth into each others beds.

Old books - i can't place what it does to me. It makes my head swim with nostalgia, as if i'm remembering it from somewhen - but am not allowed to bring it to consciousness.

Artificial watermelon scented anything - for some reason this became intrinsically associated with my last lover, and everytime i smell it, my heart constricts and i'm reminded that in moments such as that - i'm nowhere near as healed as i want to be.

New plastic smell - whether from DVD or CD cases, or new electronics equipment; intrinsically tied to memories of Christmas's. All those new plastic toys...action figures, etc. Bliss.

There's more..but these are the ones just off the top.

Sorry about the delay: I stopped getting email notifications.

Yes, I have many of their samples. Many, many, many. It's become an addiction. If you see a scent you're intrigued by, run it past me. I might have it and could then send it your way. I'm all about spreading this addiction. And the stories in my head created by them. I often wonder what stories others get, and if they're at all similar to mine.

I have so many scent memories: I should write about them sometime, I really should.

You should (write them).

Do they give out free samples?

Nope. They're about $3 apiece, but there's a huge swapping/selling community because every order (including samples) takes almost two months, since they're handblended and not made before they get an order for a particular scent.

But as I said, if you want any, I could probably be convinced to send you some.
