Still Under Adware Attack

May 09, 2005 17:48

Work is still pretty hectic, and I spent most of the day wrapping up a large file, as well as running a bunch of programs to try to debug my computer. The adware and spyware is still lurking quietly, deep in the bowels of my poor computer, but hopefully there are a few less after today. I found a great site that recommended a list of programs to ( Read more... )

I think that writers measure their progress by their last completely written sentence at times. When you go back to your first stories and realize just how much you have accomplished, you begin to believe that you can write. That of course will probably only last until you are scrambling to write the next sentence. Ah, well...such is the agony of being a writer.

I will tell you unequivocally that you are an awesome writer and you pen lovely complex stories that I, for one, enjoy tremendously. I am still waiting for more on the Great Hunt, my favourite, (ahead in re-reads by a smidge) thus far.

Nailed it on the head. And it can definitely be agony being a writer! This is pathetic to admit, but I have a few earlier WIPs I want to finish, but they're so...not exactly crappy, but they need so much work as far as grammar and scene tweaking, that I'm rather overwhelmed. So they just keep sitting in my WIP file on my computer!

Thanks, maigie. You always make me feel good on my writing.

I'm... uh... late, but I hope things are a bit better now! I had quite a few problems with my 'puter in the last weeks, so I definitely feel for you now! *hugs*

If you want me to virtually poke and prod you about anything in particular, I'll be *happy* to do so! I have very... creative ways to motivate people *evil cackle*

But seriously, sweetie, I hope you're well and happy and as un-stressed as possible *snugs*

Heh. *rolls eyes at self* Yeah, definitely better. Amazing how five months can do that for you! LOL!

I've gotten the adware/spyware prob taken care of. Mostly. And I'm much more wary of what sites I'll visit. It's sad how some people have to ruin such a great medium like the internet for the rest of us. Or e-mail, even, damn spammers!

spent about 5 hours reading your memories. I love you. Seriously. Keep writing and I will keep slavishly checking your LJ unitl you leave fandom or I die. Which ever comes first.

carnadosa...I think I love you, back!

It's so nice to hear positive things about my writing. As you may or may not know, depending on if you read my latest entry, I've been offline since May. (Eck! I apologize for taking so long to respond to you!) Which is also how long it's been since I've written anything.

I guess I've been in the writing doldrums. But I'm going to simply start writing again, to my CLex back on. Hopefully! Also, I'll probably start putting out some of the fic I have on my harddrive that I haven't posted yet. I have oodles, mostly WIPs and series in progress, that I've been holding off on posting since I keep thinking it's too raw, or I'm stuck on a scene. But, maybe posting it and reading other people's thoughts is exactly what I need to get my rear in gear.

The chart is such a wonderful idea. You might consider posting it as well as your fans might appreciate seeing how you fit things together.

Something else you might try is montages of your stories from clips, graphics etc. Although I have only the most rudimentary graphics (stone age) program (paint), if it can even be called such; I have used it to paste and arrange images that fit with the plot of my stories and then printed them out so that I have rough visuals of my work. As soon as I noticed my pegboard and pictures filling up (as their plots developed), I really began to enjoy looking at the sheets before I start each session.

diane, that's a terrific idea. You must be a visual-orientated person...thanks for sharing this tip. I'll have to try it out and see if it helps.

Heh. Sorry about taking so long about replying back. I've been offline since May, so it's been forever and a day since I've been on lj. But I'm back now. And I'll definitely have to go friend you!

*hugs* Thanks! It's good to be back. I still have yet to poke around other people's journals or communities, but I'm pecking away at responding to people.

I solemnly swear to keep up.

*experiences Harry Potter flashbacks*

Hopefully, I get some fic posted real soon!

hi, d. First off, I'm sorry it's taken so long to reply back. I just haven't been on lj until now.

Second, thanks for asking about the Awakening series. It's always a huge compliment, and it makes me feel just plain great, to know someone likes the series.

Third, I'm definitely going to give you more! Sadly, I haven't written the third story yet. I was distracted by all these challenges, and I just let my attention wander away from the series. Then, recently, I just haven't been in a CLexy mood...the show has just been such a downer on Clark's and Lex's characters and relationship.

BUT...I plan on starting the third story tonight. After I finish up here, I've decided that I'm going to dive back into writing and I'm starting on this series. Hopefully, I'll have something by the end of the month, or more likely, mid-December.
