Last summer I've tasted my way through all cupcakes available at the Hummingbird Bakery in London and I loved the buttercream ones <3 I prefer to use fondant, because you can form and colour is more easily, but butter cream icing just tasts way better. Fondant is simply too sweet D: .. but butter cream cakes are so heavy, I can't eat more than one piece of cake before I'm full XD
A shame you fail at baking but I hope you can convince some friend to make this cake for you, it's totally worth it ;;
