I've been really depressed lately. I know it's just life, but things seem to be going down hill. Gas prices, grocery prices, the moral decline. I could go on and on.

Anyway, I hope everyone can find a little happiness in all the madness going on everywhere.

Hugs. Same here. Food is expensive here too my weekly grocery for me and the cats is over $100 a week now. I don't even buy much just meat(usually ground beef as it's usually the cheapest right now) eggs, case of sparkling water cans(bubly or AHA usually), maybe a vegetable if any are on sale, sometimes I'll splurge and buy some fresh strawberries or blueberries. Cat food, cat treats and cat litter. Odd time I might get a bag of shredded cheese if it's on sale. It's getting hard here just to survive and I work full time. Gas is up over $2.00/liter. Luckily I live close enough to work and there is also a grocery store close to my apartment that I can walk. I rarely leave the north end of the city where I live. Might on rare occasion take the bus somewhere but I haven't really gone anywhere except work and the grocery. Been seriously contemplating going completely off grid. Starting a vegetable garden, maybe getting a few chickens..buying a fishing pole...a shipping container/canvas tent and moving to the mountains of ( ... )

Oh I hear you. It sounds like we eat the same food varieties too. Yeah, it's getting scary depressing just trying to survive. I went off the grid for a few years, but I sure missed my online friends here. I was so glad to see you are still here! Covid took so much away from everyone. Now I'm trying to balance my online time and my offline time. ☺

I want to raise chickens too, but haven't gotten around to that yet. We do have veggies though. What kind are you growing currently?

Right now trying to grow some grape tomatoes, spinach, peas, raddish and basil. So far I think the only thing growing ok is the tomatoes. Lol! I Think I killed everything else. I have everything in containers since I don't really have a yard I live in an apartment building. Ended up leaving everything out in the rain one day. The spinach, raddish, peas and basil all got drowned. The only thing that didn't was the tomatoes. Going to get more seeds and try the other stuff again. This time leave them inside until I get them going good.

-hugs- I hear you on that. The struggle is real. We are in drought conditions, and going outside to water leads to serious heat exhaustion here. My dad and grandma are the green thumbs, but I can do tomatoes and herbs. 😉 Basil is a champ! Yum!
