The Sheriff's office has admitted sending in spies, and that they lied about who and what they were... and insists that they were in the right.

They're trying to paint the people who are working for justice as troublemakers with false gripes. I just wish that people would wake up and see what's going on right under their noses.

Civil Rights are taking a beating, and the bigots are trying to push things back to the 50s.

It's ugly. The problem is, people in general don't realize what a hellhole this area is (my friends do by now), and that a lot of it has to do with law enforcement and local politics. The big meeting I attended started out because of the way the Sheriff has been treating kids... putting them in jail with the other inmates, overusing pepper spray and tasers on them, etc.. Kids being targeted because they were minority and railroaded was also part of the discussion (heard some real horror stories)... many kids in jail didn't belong there. It grew quickly into how people - minorities and the poor - are treated in this county. Driving while minority/poor/young is a reality here. Based on past occurrences in this county, even being minority in your front lawn at night might get you killed by "law enforcement"; never mind you're putting your trash out so you don't have to get up at 5am in the morning (otherwise it doesn't get picked up
