-Beginning-

Sho and Aiba had been involved with a nasty car accident not long ago. They were rushed to the hospital.

"Where's Aiba?" Sho asked as soon as he had woken. He attempted to get onto his feet but a sudden wave of dizziness and pain traveled throughout his entire body.

"Sho, rest first. Aiba is fine. He's in the other room." Nino told the older man calmly.

"Can I see him?"

"You don't have the right to, Sho. Not after hurting him." Jun commented, teeth gritted and head faced towards the wall.

"...How did..?"

"He came to me. He was crying. He told me that you hurt him...How could you?"

"..I..What do you know!" Sho shouted. "It's between the two of us. You have no right to say that!"

"Then you have no right to see him either."

"Stop." The two turned towards Nino. "Both of you stop it." They didn't speak.

"Sho, I think it's best if you don't see him yet. Aiba and just woke up and he's..not feeling well so he needs a little rest. I promise you can see him tomorrow okay? Just sleep for now." Nino looked at Sho with sad, sorrowful eyes.

"Alright, Nino.." And Sho slept full of worries.

---

"Can I see him now?" Sho asked again as Nino and Ohno had just arrived.

"Are you feeling better?" Ohno asked with a small smile.

"I feel better. Thanks, Ohno..Can I see him?"

"Okay, I promised you didn't I?" Nino led the way to the room next door. Sho tried to walk by himself but in the end he needed help from Ohno.

"Masaki.." Sho rasped as soon as he saw his lover sitting in the bed talking happily to Jun. But Jun turned towards him with a glare as if warning him not to do anything.

Once Aiba noticed the visitors he faced Nino and Ohno with a smile but greeted Sho with a confused expression.

"Masaki, I was so worried! I'm so sorry..I'm really sorry.."

"Who-who are you?.." The younger man asked in the embrace of the other.

"Masaki..Nino, what's wrong?"

Nino didn't say anything for a while. Then Jun spoke up. "He has temporary amnesia."

"Amnesia?" Sho took the words in and thought hard about it. He-He doesn't remember me?!

"Jun, who is this? Your friend?" Aiba blinked up at the other member.

"..." Now it was his turn to be silent.

Sho had thought enough of it. He made his decision. "No, we're not friends. I just happened to be involved in the same accident as you. Haha. I should get going. I..hope you'll get well soon." Sho held back tears as he let Aiba go. He managed a tiny smile and walked back to his room.

"...I'm sorry Sho-chan. But it's better off this way." Aiba whispered under his breath. Nino bit his lips and held onto Ohno. Jun stared at the ground motionlessly.

Sho knew that was the best thing to do. He had hurt Aiba too much. So much he could never compensate for it. He regretted everything that he had done to hurt his lover but he knew he wouldn't regret this choice.

He hadn't left. Sho was still standing behind the door. He had heard all he needed to. There was nothing more for him to do.

As the newscaster stood, his back against the wall, he smiled bitterly. "It was my fault anyways. Everything was my fault. I'm sorry, Masaki. I'm sorry, Nino. I'm sorry, Jun. I'm sorry, Ohno. I really am so sorry..." Sho went back into his room. "It's better off this way. I guess we were never meant to be together..I'm sorry for coming into your lives and hurting all of you. I love you, Masaki...I love you." Tears formed in his eyes and slid down his cheeks. He smiled one last time. "Goodbye.."

---

"What?! Where is he? What happened to him?!!" Nino frantically asked the nurse.

"Sakurai-san said he was feeling much better so he requested to take his leave. He had finished packing and left a while ago."

Nino ran back to Aiba's room. "Sho-Sho left!"

Jun's, Ohno's, and most of all Aiba's eyes widen. "Wh-where is he? Why did he suddenly leave?!"

"I don't know. The nurse just said he left a while ago.."

"Sho-chan..." Aiba was about to get up when they saw a number of doctors and nurses rush down the hallways. The four of them followed to see what was wrong.

Voices intersected and footsteps could be heard.

A crashing sound had just been made and others were crowding by the front door. Ohno, Nino, Aiba, and Jun pushed their way to see what was happening.

Aiba gasped loudly and froze. Outside of the hospital was a little boy crying in the arms of a man. The man had fallen to the ground.

Police were everywhere and a tall man was standing in front of the fallen man, a huge knife in his hands. The man began to laugh crazily until many policemens grabbed hold of his and handcuffed his arms behind his back. The man was taken away quickly with no hesitation.

There were other victims. Doctors and nurses were tending to them as well as carrying them inside. It was a mess all around. People running and blood on the ground.

After getting a clearer view of the view, the four friends saw that the knife was covered in blood.

They recognized those clothes on the fallen man. He got up slowly and stared into the eyes of the crying boy. A bloody hand reached up and a gentle smile formed on his face. "Masaki.." He whispered. "It's okay now. You're safe. I'm sorry for hurting you..but it's okay now..You're safe and that's all that matters. Please," Sakurai Sho coughed. "smile once again for me? Can you Masaki?.."

The little boy stopped crying and looked back into Sho's eyes. "Onii-chan, don't die! Onii-chan..Masaki will smile so don't die..Thank you for saving me..Masaki forgives Onii-chan! Don't die!..Masaki will smile..Masaki will smile!" The boy smiled showing teeth as more tears rolled down his rosy cheeks.

"I was able to protect Masaki. I'm so happy..Thank you Masaki..." Sho coughed out bit of blood that stained his chin. He looked weak and pale as if his life force was being pulled out of his body.

"Sho-chan!" Aiba shouted. Sho had now fallen down again, but this time he didn't move anymore. "Sho-chan!!" The little boy shook his body as Aiba and the other three went over towards him and the onii-chan.

A women quickly ran for the little Masaki and hugged him dearly. "Masaki! Masaki! I'm so glad you're safe! Masaki!! it's okay now! Mama's here."

The little boy cried onto his mother's shoulders and said. "Onii-chan saved me, but-but now he got hurt! I don't want him to die!! Bring me back to Onii-chan!" His mother carried him into the hospital to be cared for.

"Masaki, Onii-chan is a very nice person. We'll thank him very very very much later ne? Come on. Let's get you bandaged up first.."

"No! I wanna stay with Onii-chan! If I stay with him then he won't die!" She didn't say a word and brought him to a doctor.

"Sho-chan! Sho-chan! Wake up! Please, wake up!" Aiba clutched his lover's shirt as tears flooded Sho's body.

There was a deep wound in his stomach. The red and stickiness caught Aiba's eye but there was nothing he could do to save him. All he could do was cry.

"I'm the one who should be sorry..I'm so sorry, Sho-chan. Don't leave me! Don't die. I need you! I love you Sho-chan!! We all need you! Wake up, please!!!" Aiba held onto the man's body, refusing to let go ever again. "I'm sorry..I remember you..It was supposed to be better that way..Sho-chan? Can you hear me? Please answer.." His voice had reached Sho little by little.

"Masaki..I know..It's my fault for..hurting you..I'm sorry. Don't cry..Be happy and smile that smile I love so much.." The wounded man's eyes fluttered threatening to close.

Aiba realized that and quickly placed a hand on his stomach to stop the bleeding. "Sho-chan, don't sleep! We-we can be together again ne? Don't go away. I wanted to go to the zoo with you..You promised! Sho-chan.."

A hand touched Aiba's cheeks and they faced each other. Sho took in every one of Aiba's features. He would never forget his face.

"I love you, Sho-chan.." Regret filled Aiba's painful heart. He regretted doing this. If he forgave him sooner maybe this would never have happened..

His tired eyes snapped shut with a single tear fixed on his cheeks. Sakurai Sho's hands fell and Aiba wept, screaming his lover's name.

---

Three years later...

"Jun, where's Aiba?" Nino came out of the kitchen wearing a girly flower patterned apron and a spatula in hand.

Ohno was sleeping on Jun's lap as the younger man watched television. "I don't know. He just left without a word."

"Geez, that idiot. He needs to tell us where he's going now that we all live together. And he left without eating breakfast? I'm gonna whack him later.." The gamer mumbled gripping the spatula firmer and stomped back into the kitchen to finish preparing breakfast. "And why are you two just lazing around? Shouldn't you be helping me? You three are useless."

"When did you become such a mother, Nino?" Jun scoffed and then whack. "Ow, see what I mean by motherly?" Another whack.

"Shut up Jun. I am not motherly. I am a perfectly capable young man with many talents."

"Yes, I'm sure that's true coming from a game otaku wearing the girliest apron and cooking meals for four men."

He knew it was going to come. Whack.

"Next time, keep an eye on Aiba."

"Hai, hai-"

"Don't you dare say okaa-san." Nino warned him with the spatula.

"Aiba-chan went to deliver breakfast." Ohno said sleepily.

"Again?" Jun asked eyebrows raised.

"He's going to get annoying if he keeps doing that every morning."

"No, he won't mind." Ohno's eyes wandered to the picture on top of the flat screen T.V.

---

"Sora! I brought breakfast." Aiba waved to the man sitting on the porch.

"Ah, Masaki. Thanks. I thought you weren't coming today." The man laughed.

"Are you on an early shift today?" He sat down next to him.

"No, it actually starts in the afternoon today. You want to go somewhere?"

"Okay!" Aiba smiled brightly. Sakurai Sora smiled back and got up. He stretched and began to walk.

Aiba stared at the back of his lover.

"Sho-chan, I love you.." He whispered softly.

"Hm? Masaki, did you say something?"

"No, I didn't say anything! Let's go Sho-uh Sora!"

"It's funny how you always call me the wrong name. You keep calling me Sho. My name is Sora, Masaki." Aiba stared into those eyes. The eyes that had once been dead three years ago.

"Ahaha. Sorry, Sora."

The older man took Aiba's hands and they ran off.

It's funny how you ended up having amnesia, Sho-chan. But I will still be with you forever. I'm never going to make the same mistake. This time, I will protect you even if you don't know who you really are. There won't be any more I'm sorrys. But I'm really glad that you're alive. It's best this way. A new name, a new job, a new life. You will be able to forget the past. And now we can start all over.

"Ne, Sora?"

"Yes, Masaki."

"You want to go over to my place? I want you to finally meet my friends."

I spent these three years for us to become friends again. Now it's time the five of us can be together again.

"Sure. That'd be great."

"I'm sure you would get along with them perfectly."

"Me too." The two smiled and headed towards Aiba's house.

A new future. A new happiness. A new beginning. An old friendship...And an old love.
