If it has to do with metallic, mechanical, and airship, Sokka can't possibly be far behind. Which is why he's sitting just a few feet away with the plans in his lap, tracing a finger over Kaylee's drawn-in changes. The written ones are lost on him until someone makes Biff translate.
But every once in a while he looks up at her with a very familiar, huge, shit-eating grin on his face.
"What d'you think?" Kaylee asks, not looking up. "I figure we can save a hell of a lot of worry just by droppin' that whole line I marked on there. It's just gonna weigh her down some."
Gaze dropping to look back at the plans, he traces the line she's talking about and frowns - not critically, but thoughtfully. "I think you're right, I'm just worried about what it's going to do protection-wise. I don't know if they have guns, but Harper says they can shoot. Kinda makes it hard to make everything bullet or lazer-proof, though."
Still frowning, he hunches straight over the paper, hand at the back of his neck and rubbing, the other flipping a pencil between his fingers.
"She's sleak enough, won't matter," Kaylee comments. "That section there'll take some holes and she'll still be flyin'. All the important stuff's shielded right."
'Important' means both 'engine' and 'passenger quarters' here.
