In aforesaid apartment, Hayden looked out the window, silently contemplating. The place was dreary, almost as bad as Lasria, and the occasional ghost passing by didn't help matters. Hayden snorted, scowling darkly down at it. Not the one that seemed to be stalking him, but that wasn't a guarantee it wouldn't take interest in him. Hayden had never considered himself particularly religious, save for the bone deep certainty that if there was some kind of afterlife, he had a one way ticket to its punishment room. Guarding against the dead wasn't something he knew much about ( ... )

For a moment, he stood there in silence, watching Hayden. Chewing on his lower lip uncertainly, he tried his best to take stock of the injuries without appearing outwardly to be doing just that.

Unfortunately, he wasn't very good at hiding his intentions, and gave up with a sheepish smile as he slunk into the apartment.

"No, don't worry about it." he murmured quietly. That...was a lot of blood to see up close. Even worse the scalpel. Aaron had to wonder how in the world Hayden couldn't feel it...was that even possible?

"We should clean them first...so they don't get infected." he added, tearing his gaze away, gesturing towards the kitchen before moving towards the corner.

"There's gauze and medicine and some painkillers and bandages...that should be more than enough, I think...for now at least."

Hayden almost smiled at Aaron's attempts to hide checking the wounds over. The younger man is almost as clear as water, in some ways. He nodded at Aaron's comment about cleaning the wounds. "True, it wouldn't be good for them to infect here. Stronger medicines require the risk of going through the hospital."

He turned, moving in the direction Aaron indicated, still unaware of the scalpel dug into his flesh. In a way, he is also unaware that this is probably the first time Aaron has clearly seen his right arm and the both cold but warm looking metal skin that covers it, or the faint and hard to discern bulges that indicate the metal skin covers part of his chest and back as well. Luckily for Hayden's back and Aaron's stomach, he opts for a chair rather than simply leaning against the wall, which would have doubtless driven the scalpel in deeper and possibly caused real damage.

"the painkiller's aren't necessary. I was born with a genetic defect that doesn't allow me to feel it."

The arm was...strange but not frightening. Not like ghosts and monsters and very real injuries that could cause irreparable damage if he wasn't careful. No, it was something he wanted to know about, and might even ask about if he felt brave enough at some point but for now...

For now those wounds were more important. Not that Hayden likely couldn't have tended to the wounds himself but Aaron liked to try and help out where he could...and this was one of those times he felt he was in a semblance of his element.

"You should be careful. Or more careful." he admonished gently, turning away from Hayden, scouting the counters for clean dish towels like what he had found in his own apartment. If not, an extra roll of bandages could be sacrificed easily enough to take care of the cleaning.

"How long have you been home? Have you lost a lot of blood?"
