It's been a day

Before I get to today's content, it dawned on me, when I was sifting through my massive email backlog (including LJ comments I still intended to respond to) that I never thanked everyone who had left me birthday messages. Y'know, 3.5 weeks ago. :-P I apologize for appearing ungrateful - I really did appreciate your words of good cheer ( Read more... )

Maybe you feel a bit run down also because you are battling a cold... be nice to yourself! Your body clearly needed the extra rest, just think that your extra ninety minutes of snoozing gave your immune system a headstart on battling the cold, and that it may be over sooner this way ( ... )

I was just so surprised by how different the job sounded, from what I was thinking of in my mind, so it's been hard to picture myself doing it. It doesn't mean I can't, only that it's a very different image.

But a lot of it is that I really do NOT want to leave my current library/school. I know I'll have to if I want to be paid, but the whole idea makes me so sad.

I see. Would this different job be something you would like to do? Or rather not ( ... )

Yes, I did send a follow-up email, but have not heard back. Although they said they would let me know "either way" I'm beginning to think they won't. That they probably have hired someone else, and just never said anything to me.

I am still trying to keep up with local job postings, but so far, I have not seen very much I could even reasonably try for. And, no, there is no chance I could be paid for what I'm doing right now. Schools are notoriously short on money. :-( (I don't know - is it better in Germany?)

I read your weekends and am exhausted by the last paragraph. Hope her puppiness is feeling better. At least dogs get over things quickly with a minimum of drama.

BTW, do you know who's an active mod at FA these days?

Puppy has been completely fine since then, thank goodness, although we caught her trying to chew on Battleship pegs that had somehow fallen out, and she tore up a manilla envelope, so God only knows if barfing will reappear, after whatever she might have swallowed. :P

And, sorry, I don't - I did see your post about that. Uh ... Maybe PM Heidi?

I don't think it's worth stretching yourself like that for a job you don't want that badly. JMO.

LVN and I ran into a girl she knew from HS when we were shopping for groceries this weekend. Although this is someone she didn't always get along with, she nonetheless put down everything she was holding and hugged this girl, and asked her if her name was still [flower name] and she replied that no, it was now [someone's last name], which is okay whatever. IDK what it meant but it was evidently a name change, not a new identity, or something? I have a hard time tracking all the kids and their name changes. LVN said she never really liked her own original name. ONE MORE THING YOU DID WRONG, MOTHER DEAR. *sigh*

Two always hated his full name, as well. He didn't mind the nickname that we used until he was about 9 (when we went to gender-neutral initials), but the actual, proper name? Hated it. I'm not sure he ever learned how to properly spell it, either. :P

LVN must've somehow known that her friend was considering a name change. It's not like your first question, upon bumping into an old acquaintance, is, "Has your first name changed?"

Facebook. I think she just wanted [lastname] to confirm that she's no longer [flower].
