There is NO MOTHER that would not fight tooth and fucking nail when in Haley's position, and GOD that part of the storyline irked me to no fucking end, ARGH. I am FAR from Haley's biggest fan but that was just so unrealistic, especially for a parent who has fought SO HARD for her son in the past, from far less ~evil forces~.
I've expressed my annoyance with this element in other forums, so here I'll content myself with saying WORD WORD THANK YOU WORD. And I liked her more in this episode, so that passive acceptance at the end bothered me the more, I think.
AND OH MAH LORD HOTCH. *wells up just looking at him again* When he broke down SOBBING? With the team right there in the house with him? AND DIDN'T EVEN CARE THAT THEY COULD SEE HIM CRY?
I'm broked. :/ CAUSE DAMN.
*tugs at your sleeve* he's not goin' away tho, right? THE TEAM STILL NEEDS HIM *scared but doesn't wanna check spoilers*
I can see that. :) I suppose my thought was that the sound of a gunshot would be loud enough to scare Jack out of his hiding place if anything else would, and fighting Foyet would keep him from Jack for longer (hopefully long enough for Hotch to arrive). Having seen the way my sister gets when people even smoke near wee kiddies, I just expected more mama bear rawr. :)
She was married for many years to a profiler. They rely on the profile rather than guns (although the guns are definitely nice for a back-up). I thought her behavior was that of an intelligent woman who knew they were dealing with something other than a traditional predator. BTW, I can't stand Haley either but that part was fine by me.
Awesome picspam! D'aww, that last one... Hotch needed a hug so bad. :(
The Haley-not-fighting thing bugged me, too, but I've explained it away that at first Foyet was closer to Jack than she was and any sudden move would have probably made him shoot, and then Jack ran off safely and she was just trying to stall Foyet for as long as she could so Hotch could get there. But yeah, I do wish she'd at least TRIED to fight him off. That was my only issue with the entire ep, though. Fantastic ep.
