I still use IRC program. I have friends in the U.S. that we have 'conversations' just about once a day, unless either of us has early morning (me) or going to be out working late, or going to crash early (them). Also use Skype

It's an inexpensive way to keep in contact, and not have to worry about being in my jammies, or mussy hair.

Maybe something we should remind families about photographs of family gatherings. Most of us, when taking photos at birthday parties, New Years, Christmas, etc etc pretty much want a chronicle of the day, when family and friends are with us. Today, we visited An at the hospital, to take her out on a lunch date.  An is like a completely different person than the wounded soul that was admitted to the hospital 3 months ago. The doctor said there's a slight yet noticeable improvement in An's mental state. Small increases in her medications are showing signs of working. Yes, she still insists the medication is making her 'dopey', but she is told immediately that the meds she's being given aren't sedatives, and can't cause drowsiness. I think I annoyed my stepfather when I called bullshit on his "Obama making free speech a felony". He just sent me an email "Paul, Rachel and the kids are having the time of their lives in Hawaii."

That's his none to subtle way of saying "Paul told me he hasn't called you."

Wasted effort on his part as I wasn't expecting Paul to actually call me.

My step father keeps forwarding me emails whose source of information is FAUX NOISE. This time, it was some folderol about the Obama administration making free speech a felony. Of course FAUX said don't bother to check SNOPES or any other fact finding groups ( Read more... )

Tomorrow is my sisters birthday. She would have been 53. She promised we would grow old together and compare notes. Things didn't work out the way we wanted.
