... Hate to see him leave the campaign, he and Elizabeth are awesome. But he did accomplish a lot just in getting health care and poverty and economic disparity into the limelight -- he helped shape the debate with solid proposals and kept the focus on the needs of people who had no one else to speak for them.
Nice comments from The Last Chance Democracy Cafe about Edwards being one of the few candidates ever to emerge from an unsuccessful campaign with greater standing in the eyes of his fellow Democrats than when he started. Given the nature of comments from not only liberal/progressive blogs yesterday, but also the Obama and Clinton campaigns -- I think this is true. He's going to be a voice in the party for a long time to come.

Howard Dean also became more influential once his Presidential campaign was over. With Democracy for America and of course, Howard is now chair of the DNC.
