These days when I settle down for a workday I'm completely torn about what I should work on: novel or software? I'll generally settle on one for an entire day. Yesterday it was software. I love that the movie used a real Victorian fighting style to feed into how they choreographed the fight scenes. Haven't seen the movie yet, but this makes me look forward to it.

Btw, good on you diving into Ajax and jquery... love what they can do but don't understand a bit of it.

jquery is now in my pocket. I groks it. Well, I get it well enough that I know what it's useful for and can now make significant forward progress without having to look things up every five seconds. Modern web development relies on libraries like jquery and prototype-- cannot IMAGINE having to write code to support the horror that is Internet Explorer without it.

I loved his worry about the "boob plate"-- that she'll fall and hurt herself, that an arrow would be guided right toward her heart by the armor that bends *inward* instead of presenting a prow like every other armor design does.
