I... cannot tell if you are being sarcastic or not? So I will answer as if you weren't. :D

Yes, really! It's set in a universe in which vampires have been made legal citizens for a couple of years now - they pay taxes, own businesses, can get married etc. Anita is a legal vampire executioner - it's murder to stake (or in Anita's case, shoot) a vampire without a court-sanctioned warrant of execution - and she also helps out the local preternatural branch of the police with beastie related crimes (because it's not just vamps that are known about, it's werewolves, psychics ect too). As I said, as she gets involved in relationships the romance and sex parts of the books get a lot more involved, and for a while now it's seemed as if the plot has stalled because Hamilton is too busy writing the sexy parts (side note: they are H-O-T, very NC-17 so I wasn't complaining about them, just that they distracted from the story) but the last couple have seen the books get back on track, and Bullet! So much growth and development! It was seriously ( ... )

Okay, that does actually sound pretty cool. I'm just sort of wary of most vampire-related things these days.

Sigh, because of Twilight? I share your wariness, the market has become flooded with half-baked teen supernatural romances. But this series pre-dates Twilight by years, Hamilton published Guilty Pleasures in 1993, and it is completely different. Anita is a grown woman, and doesn't take shit from anyone, let alone some nancy vampire who wants to tell her what to do. Lol, if someone broke her car to stop her seeing someone, she would probably threaten to shoot them, and then press police charges!
