My second illustration for hoodie_times "Challenge 6 : A Dean-focused h/c fic and art challenge"
The prompt was: "Mary´s ghost does what she can to comfort a sick!Dean" by dakotalynn421
I´m not quite sure if I filled the prompt properly because in my interpretation Mary is less a ghost than a memory triggered by Dean´s feverish mind and a certain song playing on the radio... but I hope that is okay too ;)
Painting this piece took me, what feels like, forever! I´ve been working on it on and off for quite a while and sometimes it was tons of fun, other times it was quite frustrating... but it was a very educational experience especially since I´m not that used to working completely digital. I tried a technique I´ve never really used before and started drawing/painting in grayscale and added colours (and bit of texture) later in the process.
While working on it I actually listened to "Hey Jude" quite a lot but not the original Beatles version but this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQXFu_hVpSs&feature=relatedf rom "Across the Universe" - one of my favorite movies of all time :)
Right now I don´t know what else to write other than that I´ve I´ve been staring way too long at the damn thing and I´m not sure how I feel about it and if it is really finished... but I do know that I want/need to post it now so that I can get it out of mind and focus on my third prompt ;)
