Alloran, Esplin, &c.

Hi, there. I'm not officially much of a writer - aside from the obligatory annual attempt at outlasting Nanowrimo - much less a writer of fanfiction, but I now mysteriously have a creative writing class and find myself tapping out Animorphs tales instead of writing on the assigned topics. This is the beginning of a story that’s a take on several ( Read more... )

Thanks! It's a WIP at the moment, but more is tentatively outlined and should be forthcoming. I'm glad you liked it. :)

Amazing. I really enjoyed that. Please write more.

The ending was perfect.

Thank you! I was pleasantly surprised by the turn in the story that lead to that ending - I still plan to focus a lot on Alloran's past, as you probably guessed from my other post, but it was really nice to be able to say something about her from an outside perspective.

I understood, I thought; winning the war does not erase the past.

Oh my God, this is awesome. The ending? Perfect. It's beautifully written, and...yeah. Amazing, and I can't wait to see more of this. Great, great job.

Thank you! I'm so happy that you like it; there's a lot going on, plot-wise, in this one section, so I was kind of worried it wasn't making a lot of sense. I absolutely loved writing from Alloran's POV, though, despite his failings as a coherent source of knowledge, and I think I'm going to try to keep the whole story in his perspective, if I can.

"...but most often their eyes focused on the one who was not there: the brave female with the yellow hair."

I just love this part. I really liked how so much of the scene indirectly focused on Rachel...but not really. Very well done. Perfect.

Thanks! :) It's kind of funny, to me, that so many people - well, three, anyway ;) - liked the bits about Rachel; I didn't really mean for this to be about her, as you probably noticed. *shrugs* I do think that it worked out nicely, since I got to say something about her (and another, rather under-appreciated Yellow Haired Female) from a new perspective, but it was really just the result of cynical musings about Visser Three not THWAP!ing at least a few of them while he had the chance.

This is a beautiful story. I like ... well, everything. If you write more, I will love to read it. I never really thought of how Alloran would feel after being free, strangely enough, and it was cool to see all this from his point of view.
I wonder if the War-Prince ever found out about Tobias's parentage.

Thank you! Officially, there is more, but I'm not sure that I like it, yet. ;)

I don't know what KA intended, but I do plan to have Alloran find out about Tobias, and Ax about Elfangor. It seemed to me that a lot was left unsaid and/or unexplained in #54, and that the Andalite-types were particularly neglected.
