I just finished catching up on an epic RPS AU fic (that would be Hawkmoon, for those in the know; yes, I realize the icon's not quite sufficient to cover the pairings, but it'll do). SO good, oh wow. And very, very long. First chapter was posted in 2004, hundred and... one? chapters if you include the holiday specials, and it is still being written ( Read more... )

Yeah, there's a certain disappointment at never having that feeling of suspense again (the lead-up to the end of the Rollins plotline had me on the edge of my mouse -- and the end itself was brilliant, really well-written). To say nothing of the thrill of watching everything unfold for the first time. I couldn't stop reading it (one of those times when I wish I could've printed it all out and read it offline).

But I expect to read it again, at some point. :)
