Very nice first ficlet/coda. Especially that last line, it was definitely a stomach-kicker.

There was one little typo that I noticed:

The bottom of his stomach felt clean to the floor

Did you mean fell there?

That for the feedback! I was a bit nervous about posting. If I were Sam, the not knowing would kind of kill me a bit. But you know he's never going to be able to discuss the mechanics and timing of it all with Dean.

Fixed the typo too.

i like this... it was one of the things i wondered too, the timeline for how long sam was dead.

i wish the fic was longer, and sam actually started prodding dean to talk about the in-between time.
