Tracey pushed her way through the crowd in the common room, clutching her books to her chest. Greg hadn't been waiting outside Arithmancy for her as he usually was. It was...concerning. He'd been her 'protector' for as long as she could remember. Not once in the six and a half years they'd attended Hogwarts had he missed picking her up from class. Something had to be wrong, it just had to be. Her books fell to the floor when she finally made it to the front of the crowd. Greg was rolling around with Vinnie on the floor, fists flying furiously and both boys were growling at one another.

"GREGORY VALERIUS GOYLE!" she screeched, pulling her wand, fully prepared to hex them if they didn't stop this ridiculous behaviour.

The fighting boys stopped so fast that there was low muttering about her using some sort of freezing charm on them.

Greg looked up sheepishly and swiped the trickle of blood from the corner of his mouth. She rolled her eyes, there was a scrape on his cheek and a bruise was forming round one of his eyes. Her eyes narrowed. "Just what the hell are you two fighting about?"

Greg ducked his head and Vinnie blushed bright red. Neither boy could look at her. All Greg could think was, Hell if I'm telling her why I was thrashing Vinnie. She'd be mortified if she knew Vinnie had those sorts of thoughts about her.

"Tracey?" Blaise called, from the other side of the circle where he and Draco had been watching, and unless she was mistaken, taking bets on the fight.

"What?" she snarled. "What could you possibly have to say that would make this better? What on earth are we going to tell Professor Snape?"

Greg winced and then scowled at Vinnie. "We were being stupid, Poppet. I'm sorry."

She glared, well as much as she could actually glare at him. "I'm not helping you get out of this, Greg."

With that she turned on her heel and took her books from Theo with a wane smile. "Thank you ,Theo, at least one boy remembers his manners around here."

She completely missed the look of absolute loathing Greg gave Theo as well as the Galleons being covertly passed to Draco and Blaise. "Boys, what utter morons," she muttered as she stormed out of the dungeons. "Every last one of them."
