I was talking about these immigration rules with my friend the other day. Both of us married non-EU citizens. Under the current rules neither of us would have met the earning threshold to allow our spouses to settle here. I am now an NHS specialist nurse and my friend is a qualified primary school teacher. As a newly qualified nurse and a newly qualified teacher with one child each we still would not have met the threshold. This isn't reasonable; it's ethnic cleansing.
