The cuckolding article is fairly good, but it leaves out one important component - the new relationship energy created by cuckolding generally enhances the original couple's sex life.

When Rome Girl comes back from Rome after being with a new boyfriend her libido is far, far higher than if she hasn't had a boy on a side in a while which translates into better sex for me and more frequent sex until the NRE wears off.

Beyond that it keeps me from being lazy. If I know some dude has been giving her monster orgasms you can bet I'm going to do everything I can think of in bed to get her off.

Beyond that a new lover reminds her that she is sexaully desirable which makes her feel more comfortable with her own body which translates into her feeling more sexual.

This link, while NSFW, gives a pretty decent overview of cuckolding.

I honestly believe that people should try cuckolding at least once because it can be super fun.

That said like any other kink, be careful with it.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but if iScotland continued to use the pound unofficially, does that not mean we'd have no control over interest rates? And would be pegged to whatever rUK does?

(My gut feeling is that there is less personal debt in scotland, fewer mortgages, so an interest rate rise wouldn't be as catastrophic as it would be for the rUK. Which in turn could make the Groat a more attractive proposition.)

We’d have no control over central bank rates if we used Sterling de facto ( ... )

Agreed. But I suppose you could argue that a criticism of Westminster politics for the last... 20 years, has been that it's focussed on the south-east and not terribly concerned with anywhere else.

I mean, look at how much of the south-west was under water, and nobody cared, until the Thames flooded, and suddenly it's a huge issue.

It worries me rather a lot who iScotland would nominate in the BoE role. The Bank of Scotland? The Royal Bank? God help us.

I think is a Scottish central bank were needed they'd set up one anew.

Probably imaginatively named The Scottish Central Bank or something.

I don't believe in eating foods which are modified for weight loss-- I was pretty much assuming that if they tasted good, they'd be sold for their flavor. It's interesting to find out that they don't work for weight loss (which seems like a weird, obsessive thing to have as a primary goal) either.

You might be interested in _The End of Power_ by Moses Naiim-- he argues that the barriers which made power stable have been eroding, and this shows up in a wide range of fields.

Sadly, that link needs a password.

And I do,sometimes, have a goal of weight loss. When I stop fitting my trousers/t-shirts I want to fit into them again.

I probably was crankier about weight loss than it deserves. However, things are at the point where I have to hunt for the whole milk yogurt at Whole Foods, and there isn't any at convenience store.

I'm not sure what a proportionate attitude would look like.
