Interesting how much John's in his own head here, Rodney a blur of activity around him a lot of the time, showing the kind of quiet space the bdsm creates for John and how much he needs it.
Thank you! John's absolutely in his own head, which is the problem that we start out with: he's in his head and the gears are spinning but the clutch is gone, and hi there car metaphor, how you doin'?
And you're right, Rodney does blur around him, and Rodney will always do that, because he's Rodney. The thing I liked about where this story went for me was that after a brief flail, Rodney got a damn grip of himself (not usually how I write Rodney, I'll admit) and went ahead and got what John needed: a grip, something to hold onto and release control and the necessity to always be there and be The Guy.
...okay, I could totally go on for hours about these two. I suspect I may well be hearing more from them.
Liked this. Great to see John letting go to Rodney; liked seeing this from John's POV, as it has a really nice impact in counterpoint to the frenetic energy of Rodney. Nice visuals as well.
I'm pleased! Yes, this John really does need to let go, and I think that Rodney can help him do that, despite his frenetic flailing, because he understands what John needs.
Thank you! One of the key reasons Rodney deprives John of his senses (sight and much of his interactivity when he trusses John up) is that it helps John to turn inwards without being distracted or concerned that there's somehow more to do.
